Why am I getting a microphone error that keeps me from recording?

This screen will show if microphone permissions have been removed after you had already set up your KardiaMobile.

Microphone permissions are required for KardiaMobile because the device communicates to your phone with an ultrasonic signal that is heard by your phones microphone. KardiaMobile 6L users may need microphone permission if the Voice memos feature was turned on.

To get past this error you will have to grant Kardia microphone permissions.

Android

1. Tap the "Allow" button
2. if you are presented with a prompt, choose "Allow" and you are done
3. Otherwise, you will now be in the Kardia system settings
4. tap "Permissions"
5. Toggle ON the microphone permission by tapping the toggle so it is to the right
6. Return to Kardia to take your recording

You're all set, and the screen should transition to the normal recording screen.

iOS

1. Tap the green "Update settings" button
2. You will arrive in the system settings  and permissions for Kardia
3. Toggle ON the toggle for Microphone access by moving it to the right, so it shows green:
   
4. Return to the Kardia app
